We started offline.
We met with peers in-person in the places we live and organize and fundraise. And, we discussed the question:
How might we become more powerful together?
This is our space, in these times, to explore our answers to this question ... until we all meet again in-person.
Our movements are more powerful when we move together.
Fundraising today represents the frontlines of a shared battle against a culture of scarcity and organizational individualism. Our own rejection of isolation within movements can seed the spirit and practice of abundance and collectivism that we want for ourselves and others.
Together, we have a real opportunity to reshape civic and movement culture.
Development staff today, for better or worse, engage more people than any other role in our movements today. Taken together, our combined actions collectively shape a majority of people's experiences with and expectations of themselves and of our social movements. Even small changes, done in coordination with one another, can produce immeasurable impact.
We deserve community.
For support, for strength, for safety, for joy, for laughter, for the things we know we need, and for the things we don't yet know that we don't know ... and for that possibility of collective action to achieve tomorrow what was impossible yesterday.
With all our love, thank you.
We can't wait to have you join us again.
